Dome builds foundations for growth
A North East construction consultancy is growing its team and workspace.
Newcastle-based Dome, a project and cost management firm launched in 2022, has relocated to the Spire development in the city centre and welcomed three recruits.
As it continues to support clients across sectors such as education, leisure and heritage, Dome is also investing in future talent by welcoming two degree apprentices and a placement student from Northumbria University.
Trainee cost manager Caeleb Collins and trainee project manager Paige Scott are both new to the industry, and will split their time between working at Dome and studying remotely.
They are joined by quantity surveying student Kyle Rogerson, who is gaining hands-on experience during a one-year placement.
Paige said: “I’m really excited to be starting out in such a supportive environment and learning about the industry while working on real projects.
“It’s a great opportunity to grow and contribute to something from the ground up.”
Ross Hamilton, director at Dome, added: “We knew we needed to grow the team last year as our workload increased, and initially set out to make a senior hire – but we couldn’t find the right fit.
“As we considered other options, we were admittedly a little hesitant about bringing in apprentices or entry-level talent.
“There’s a common misconception that smaller or younger businesses can’t support that kind of development, but we’ve completely turned that idea on its head and it’s been such a positive experience.
“Both Paige and Caeleb are incredibly enthusiastic, and we’re excited about the opportunity to train, support and shape them into key members of the team.”
Dome has grown its turnover by more than 190 per cent since launching with two founders, and now supports more than 20 clients across the region and beyond.
