Lumo keeps Eagles partnership on track
A train operator is marking a sports partnership with a colourful celebration in Newcastle’s city centre.
Lumo is extending its support for the Newcastle Eagles women’s team for a third season and will mark the occasion at Northern Pride on Saturday, July 19.
As part of the event, 1000 free tickets to the Eagles’ September opener will be handed out, alongside other Lumo giveaways.
The Newcastle-headquartered open access train operator, known for its all-electric East Coast Mainline service, will continue to provide travel for the team when they head to London.
Lumo’s branding will also appear on the back of the team’s shirts for the upcoming season as part of the ongoing collaboration.
Jen Clare, service delivery director at Lumo, which yesterday unveiled a Smurfs-themed electric train to celebrate the release of Paramount Animation’s latest film, said: “We’re proudly from the North East and championing our local community is very important to us.
“Renewing our commitment to the Newcastle Eagles is a key part of that.
“All of the team at Lumo would like to wish both the men’s and women’s teams the best of luck for the upcoming season.
“We can’t wait to welcome them and their dedicated fans onboard.”
Newcastle Eagles Women’s player-coach Chloe Gaynor added: “Everyone at Lumo has been a brilliant support for our team and I’m thrilled this partnership will be continuing into a third year.
“The team are proud to have such an iconic North East brand on their backs for games and especially one that’s so present in the local community, as well as active in supporting the LGBTQ+ community.”
