Partnership aims to streamline school systems
An education software partnership is set to streamline school attendance and safeguarding management for the new academic year.
Sunderland-founded A Star Attendance Solutions has joined forces with CPOMS, a global leader in safeguarding and pastoral care software, to create a fully integrated system.
Bosses say the collaboration removes the need for double data entry by combining attendance tracking and safeguarding into one platform, reducing workload and improving recordkeeping accuracy.
Melissa Warwick, operation manager at A Star Attendance Solutions, said: “This is a game-changer for our business.
“Partnering with CPOMS – an industry leader used by thousands of schools and settings – propels us into the next chapter of our growth journey.
“We’re proud to be bringing our expertise into a platform trusted by safeguarding professionals across the country.”
The A Star Attendance System, launched four years ago by former council attendance officer Jill Robson, is already used by hundreds of schools nationwide and has helped improve attendance rates by up to eight per cent.
Its focus on early intervention helps schools identify attendance issues that may signal wider wellbeing concerns.
By integrating with CPOMS, schools will benefit from a more cohesive approach to pupil welfare, enabling staff to act swiftly from day one.
The partnership also reflects growing demand for innovative tools that support both safeguarding and attendance under one roof, ensuring “no child slips through the net”.
Jill added: “We know just how precious time is for educational workers, and doubling up on jobs only eats into that.
“However, this partnership will mean less admin whilst helping educators and safeguarding leads to claw back that time in order to focus on pupil wellbeing and intervention.”
Rick Gardner, managing director of CPOMS, added: “We’re excited to partner with A Star Attendance to help schools connect the dots between attendance monitoring and safeguarding.
“When it comes to safeguarding, attendance concerns are often early indicators of a larger issue, but without the full picture, they can go unnoticed.
“Bringing A Star’s attendance data directly into CPOMS, gives staff a more holistic view of each pupil, supporting earlier intervention and more informed safeguarding decisions to protect every student, every day.”
