CyberNorth powers sector growth with new appointment
CyberNorth, the North East’s cyber security cluster, has expanded its team with the appointment of Helen Matthews as delivery manager – skills, strengthening its commitment to building a robust and future-ready cyber workforce.
Helan brings extensive experience from her time at UKC3, the UK Cyber Cluster Collaboration, where she supported national efforts to boost cyber sector growth.
In her new role, she will lead on engagement with the regional education sector to ensure the North East cyber workforce is equipped with the skills needed for long-term success.
Helen said: “I’m thrilled to join CyberNorth at such a pivotal time, collaboration, building relations and bridging connections between academia and industry is of essence for regional growth in the sector and I relish the opportunity to work with Danielle and the talented team here to further impact the cyber security community here in the North East.”
Helen’s appointment follows a leadership transition, with Danielle Phillips stepping into the chief executive role after the retirement of founding figure Phil Jackman.
It also comes on the back of recent partnerships with major players such as Accenture, Hicomply, Gateshead College and FTSE 100 tech giant Sage.
Danielle added: “We are excited to welcome Helen.
She joins us at a key moment of growth and evolution here at CyberNorth.
“Helen is already a great asset to the team and her deep expertise and strategic leadership will play a key role in strengthening our standing further in the cyber security community.
“The formation of partnerships and alignment with academic institutions across the North East is of paramount importance to us, and Helen will play a vital role in cementing and building these relationships further.”
