Run With It welcomes first fundraising lead
Educational charity Run With It has appointed Alison Parker as its first fundraising and events co-ordinator, as demand for its programmes reaches record levels across the Humber region.
Alison brings experience from the VCSE sector, community organisations and local authorities, having worked extensively across Holderness to deliver health and wellbeing initiatives.
She said: “I’m so excited to join such a fantastic charity as Run With It at such a pivotal time.
“As my role as fundraising and events co-ordinator is brand new, I literally want to run with it!
“From supporting our existing fundraisers and investors, to launching new events and promoting our patron scheme to even more local businesses, there’s so much potential to grow awareness and generate support.”
Alison’s appointment marks a significant step for Run With It, which supports learners who do not thrive in traditional classrooms by delivering lessons in inspiring, real-world locations such as football stadiums, shopping centres and airports.
The charity now operates from seven sites including Hull’s MKM Stadium, Bridlington Town FC, Humberside Airport, Flemingate in Beverley, Grimsby Town’s Blundell Park, Scunthorpe’s Attis Arena and Sewell Group Craven Park in East Hull.
Lisa Dawson, director of Run With It, added: “This new role is a crucial step forward for us as we look to raise our profile and meet the needs of even more learners.
“We’re seeing unprecedented demand, including from special needs schools, and this is about expanding our reach, building new partnerships and creating more opportunities for the young people who need it most.”
