Furniture maker fashions success with hotel work
A hotel furniture maker has boosted its market presence with a city deal.
Curtis Furniture provided bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette fittings to Manchester’s Treehouse Hotel.
The Leeds-based firm worked with Starwood Hotels and interior designer 93 Feet on the scheme across the 12-storey site.
Bosses say the project “blends playful design with durable craftsmanship”, with additions including distressed wood across wardrobes, headboards, desks and shelving.
The work – which built on previous contracts at Portrush’s Dunluce Lodge and St Andrews’ Seaton House – also featured a rotating television unit set into a scaffolding-style frame, and bathroom vanity unit shelves hung from ceiling ropes to mimic a swing.
Callum Preece, Curtis Furniture account manager, said: “This project brought together some of the most exciting creative challenges we’ve tackled to date.
“Our approach with 93 Feet and Starwood Hotels’ internal design teams meant we could turn ambitious ideas into functional and beautiful pieces of furniture that tap into a unique brand within the hotel industry.”
