Grant Thornton UK in 'significant' city office move
A business and financial advisory firm has agreed an office move.
Grant Thornton UK is switching to a 9974 sq ft space in Leeds’ City Square House.
Bosses say the “significant deal represents a vote of confidence in the city and its economy”.
The agreement will see Grant Thornton UK – whose services include support on areas such as auditing, cybersecurity, restructuring and tax – leave Leeds’ Whitehall Riverside.
It will join Liberty Global, Barnett Waddingham, DLA Piper and Markel in the 140,000 sq ft building, which has been developed by MRP and built by McAleer & Rushe.
Dan Dickinson, Grant Thornton UK partner and practice leader for Yorkshire, said: “We’re very excited to have agreed this exceptional new space.
“The building’s sustainability credentials, substantial amenities and modern design will provide our people with a great base from which to support clients.”
The deal was brokered by the Leeds office of global property consultancy Knight Frank.
Eamon Fox, Knight Frank partner and head of Leeds office, said: “We are delighted to welcome a company with such an excellent reputation as Grant Thornton to City Square House.
“This is a very significant and positive statement of intent in the long-term future prosperity of office space in Leeds and in urban centres throughout the UK.
“Amid this challenging economic climate, this is just the boost the whole region needed and a genuine cause to be optimistic about the commercial property sector in Yorkshire.”
Grant Thornton UK was advised by Alex Hailey, from the Leeds office of property consultancy CBRE.
