Flooring firm on a roll as demand boosts sales
A flooring firm says it is on solid ground for growth after demand pushed sales higher.
AIREA saw revenues rise 5.8 per cent to £9.81 million in the half-year to June 30.
The Ossett-headquartered contract carpet and tile operator was boosted by higher sales across the UK and Ireland – which increased 7.3 per cent on a year ago – and marginal international growth where sales rebounded after a sluggish start to the year.
And bosses say they expect the momentum to continue across the remainder of its financial year, with “solid trading and a healthy order book” across the third quarter set to be complemented by “several” product launches.
They also confirmed a previously-announced investment by the firm – whose portfolio includes commercial carpet tile and plank maker Burmatex – to bolster its manufacturing base is set to be completed in the coming weeks.
Médéric Payne, chief executive, said: “The group continues to make good progress on its longer-term strategy.
“The third quarter has started strongly, and the board expects this momentum to continue through the remainder of the year, supported by the major investment and wider transformation, which will enhance operational capabilities and drive future profitable growth.
“The board remains confident in the group’s long-term prospects.”
