Holiday operator expands with travel firm deal
A holiday firm has expanded with a takeover.
Active Travel Group has bought MV Luxury Travel.
Under the terms of the deal, Edinburgh-based MV Luxury Travel has been absorbed into Active Travel Group’s UK and Ireland adventure holiday Wilderness business.
Bosses say the agreement for MV Luxury Travel, which primarily serves high-net-worth US travellers keen to sample the British Isles and Ireland, will “bring further scale and operational expertise in premium custom travel”.
They add it marks another step in a growth strategy supported by investment partner Mobeus.
Justin Maltz, Mobeus partner, said: “Active Travel Group is seen as the go-to provider for discerning customers looking for exceptional adventure and experiential travel experiences.
“It has delivered very strong growth in the post-COVID-19 period, and we are delighted to support this acquisition.
“It will add further scale to the business and materially enhance the Wilderness component of the group.”
Active Travel Group’s portfolio includes Ski Solutions, which oversees holidays across Europe and North America; Wilderness England; Wilderness Scotland; Wilderness Ireland; and the London-based Cycling for Softies, which offers cycling holidays across European wine regions.
