Housing providers agree 'exciting' merger
Two housing providers have agreed a merger.
Settle Group and Paradigm Housing Group are set to join forces.
Officials say the partnership – to be initially known as SettleParadigm – will “improve services for residents and deliver more affordable homes” across Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
They add the merger will complete in October, with a shadow board and executive team already appointed.
Paradigm Housing Group – which is in talks to buy 3500 South Buckinghamshire homes from provider L&Q – oversees almost 17,000 houses, with Settle Group’s portfolio including more than 10,000 properties.
Richard Moriarty, designate chair, said: “I’m excited about the potential of the new organisation and its ability to deliver for residents.
“The new organisation will help us deliver more affordable homes in the communities we serve.”
Matthew Bailes, designate chief executive, added: “The partnership between Settle and Paradigm, and the potential addition of 3500 homes in our core area, means the new organisation will be large enough to take on the most difficult challenges while remaining genuinely local.
“We have an exciting future.”
