Smash burger brand lands in Middlesbrough
A North East burger brand is bringing its cult following to Middlesbrough as it opens a new restaurant in the town this autumn.
Burger Drop, founded in Newcastle in 2020 by Hasan Hamid and Amer Qayyum, has announced plans to open its sixth UK site, offering 20 indoor covers alongside takeaway and delivery via Uber Eats.
Known for its precision-engineered smash burgers and stripped-back menu, Burger Drop has quickly earned a loyal fan base with venues in Newcastle, Whitley Bay, Sunderland, Manchester and Edinburgh.
The Middlesbrough site will stay true to the brand’s no-compromise approach to quality, serving up freshly ground smashed patties, loaded fries and indulgent milkshakes.
Signature burgers such as the Classic Smash and Halloumi Smash will feature alongside sides such as chicken tenders and gyro-loaded fries, with shake flavours including Oreo, Biscoff, Peanut Putter and Salted Caramel.
Hasan said: “Following the success of our other five venues, we’re buzzing to bring Burger Drop to Middlesbrough.
“It’s a place that fits our DNA – full of energy, creativity and community spirit.
“We can’t wait to open the doors and serve up what we do best.”
