Sabert broadens reach with Colpac deal
A packaging company is growing its sustainable food packaging reach.
Sabert Corporation Europe has acquired Colpac Limited, a family-owned manufacturer of sustainable paperboard packaging based in Flitwick, Bedfordshire.
Founded in 1937, Colpac has built a strong reputation in the food-to-go and industrial markets for quality and innovation.
Bosses say the deal strengthens Sabert’s presence in the UK, while expanding its global paperboard product range.
They add that Colpac’s expertise in design and manufacturing complements Sabert’s operations, offering greater agility and enhanced manufacturing capacity.
Paul McCann, chief executive at Sabert Corporation, said: “Today marks an important milestone in our ongoing investment in the UK and our focus on expanding our diverse product portfolio of innovative, sustainable solutions.
“Both companies believe that a culture of sustainability, quality, and high service levels is the foundation of building lasting relationships with our customers.
“Now, as one team, we can accelerate our efforts even further to develop and deliver sustainable, innovative solutions as our customers’ trusted food packaging provider.”
Andrew Grimbaldeston, managing director of Colpac, added: “Colpac’s team, heritage and specialist paperboard expertise are a perfect complement to Sabert’s portfolio.
“Together, we are better equipped to serve customers with a broad, innovative, and sustainable range of food packaging solutions.”
