The Vic gets £15 million refurbishment
A London-based entertainment venue is undergoing its biggest transformation yet.
Grosvenor Casinos has unveiled a £15 million refurbishment of its “flagship venue” The Victoria, on Edgware Road.
Known locally as ‘The Vic,’ the casino has been a staple of the capital’s gaming scene since 1965 and has hosted celebrities and poker enthusiasts alike.
The extensive makeover includes redesigned casino floors, an expanded gaming terrace with a retractable roof and a revamped restaurant offering Middle Eastern and Arabic cuisine.
New lighting, AV technology and premium décor have refreshed customer areas, while team facilities have also been upgraded.
The investment is Grosvenor Casinos’ largest to date across its 50 UK locations and coincides with upcoming changes under the Gambling Act Review, which will allow The Victoria to double its gaming machines and introduce sports betting for the first time.
Mark Harper, managing director at Grosvenor Casinos, said: “This £15 million renovation marks our boldest investment ever in a single site and is a statement of intent to modernise Grosvenor’s presence in London and across other casinos in England and Wales in line with the opportunities provided to us by the new legislation.
“To celebrate six decades of gaming history at The Victoria, we’ve transformed this iconic spot into a contemporary destination.
“This is about reimagining what a flagship venue can be and doubles down on our commitment to elevate the player and gaming experience while also embracing the legacy of one of the world’s most respected casinos in the UK.”
