Property firm backs multi-million college expansion
A property consultancy has supported a multi-million-pound college expansion.
Eddisons acted as technical adviser to Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust on a £4 million funding application to increase the size of its Immanuel College sixth form building.
Bosses say the work on the site, based in Idle on the outskirts of Bradford, has expanded the base by 50 per cent, creating space for a further 100 post-16 learners.
The new building includes six classrooms, a social study space, a common room and a dining area and kitchen.
Eddisons – which has offices in Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield – drafted a £4 million funding application to the Department for Education to support the development.
It also acted as lead architect and designer, contract administrator, principal designer and project manager, undertaking feasibility assessments, producing concept designs and leading the pre-planning phase.
Nick Rymer, Eddisons’ head of architectural services, said: "We’re proud to be part of this transformational project for Immanuel College and the trust.
“It is a pleasure to help deliver facilities that will support young people and the wider community for many years to come.”
Marc Burrow, Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust’s head of estates, added: “We are excited to welcome even more students into an improved post-16 offer in the modern, inspiring learning environment this project has created.”
Eddisons has further offices in Scunthorpe and Sheffield.
