NEBRC student joins Aspire after cybersecurity success
Adam Taylor, a recent Northumbria University graduate, has joined Gateshead-based Aspire Technology Solutions as an associate cyber security analyst after two years with the North East Business Resilience Centre’s (NEBRC) ethical hacking student team.
Through the NEBRC’s Student Services Programme, Adam gained real-world experience conducting web application vulnerability assessments for SMEs.
His final year project, TraceHunter, a reconnaissance and scanning tool, helped him stand out during his application to Aspire, an NEBRC Cyber Essentials Partner.
Adam said: “The most valuable part of working with the NEBRC was seeing the real-world impact of cybercrime on SMEs.
“The experience gave me technical skills, confidence and a true understanding of why cybersecurity matters.”
Bob McKay, cyber and InfoSec director at Aspire, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Adam to the team.
“His time with the NEBRC has clearly provided a strong foundation, and we’re excited to support his future in cyber.”
Martin Wilson, the NEBRC’s head of student services, added: “Adam’s journey is a fantastic example of how our model supports the wider cybersecurity ecosystem in nurturing talent, supporting local businesses and helping students launch careers with real impact.”
