Merger adds up for Carpenter Box growth
An accountancy firm is eyeing growth after completing a merger.
Carpenter Box has joined forces with Boormans Chartered Accountants & Business Advisers.
Officials say the move for Hove-based Boormans will bolster services across the South East.
Under the terms of the deal, Boormans’ staff will join Worthing-headquartered Carpenter Box’s Brighton team, with director Matt Virgo becoming a partner, Mike Herriott named an associate director and Sally Virgo undertaking an operations and compliance role.
Operating as part of the Sumer Group of regional accountancy practices, Carpenter Box – whose office portfolio includes Crawley, London and Portsmouth bases – provides chartered accountancy, tax and business advisory services.
Boormans specialises in the media, construction, property and retail sectors, working with SMEs, families and private clients.
Alan Edwards, Carpenter Box managing partner, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Boormans’ directors and staff into the Carpenter Box family.
“It will be a perfect addition to our service provision across the South East.”
Matt added: “This merger is a significant step forward for our business, as well as our client base.
“We already offer a full range of accountancy, tax and cloud accounting services, and this merger will provide us with additional resources and specialist knowledge to enhance our client relationships.”
The merger comes after Carpenter Box joined forces with Lewes-based Clark Brownscombe earlier this year.
