Developer Banks Property submits 350-home plan
A developer has submitted plans for a 350-home scheme.
Banks Property wants to create an estate in Tudhoe, County Durham.
Bosses say the 15-hectare site would include “a range of house types including bungalows”, with around 15 per cent of stock earmarked as affordable properties.
The blueprint also features a small convenience store.
Durham County Council planning officials are expected to decide on the scheme later this year.
Kate Culverhouse, community relations manager at Meadowfield-based The Banks Group, which includes Banks Property, said: “There is a clear need for more high-quality housing sites within reach of Durham City, but there are only a limited number of locations in which they might be found.
“This site, which stands outside the designated green belt, would benefit from excellent access to the surrounding transport network and would sit just a short distance from Durham City and Spennymoor, making both locations accessible in a matter of minutes.”
