Royal Voluntary Service makes new appointment

Royal Voluntary Service has appointed Carole Urey as marketplace and platform director to lead the charity’s new digital volunteering platform and consultancy offer.

Carole, who is based near Kendal, brings more than 20 years’ experience in tech and platform businesses, including senior leadership roles as chief executive and chief commercial officer at High Speed Training.

Carole said: “This is an exciting time to join Royal Voluntary Service.

“By working together across the sector, we have an opportunity to inspire the next generation of volunteers, by making volunteering more accessible, flexible and inclusive, and by reducing barriers that prevent participation, including in workplaces.

“I’m thrilled to be contributing to a platform that will expand volunteer reach and drive greater community impact.”

Carole’s appointment supports Royal Voluntary Service’s drive to engage more people in volunteering, strengthen links with businesses and charities, and roll out its new digital platform this autumn.

The platform, funded by players of People’s Postcode Lottery, will connect volunteers with causes, help charities reach more supporters and provide businesses with tailored employee volunteering opportunities.

Catherine Johnstone CBE, chief executive of the Royal Voluntary Service, added: “We’re pleased to welcome Carole to the team.

“Her leadership and experience will be immensely valuable as we prepare to launch the platform.

“Carole will also play a key role in establishing our new consultancy offering and ultimately, helping us achieve our mission to mobilise more volunteers to deliver support where it’s needed most.”
