Distributor Haus 'set to grow' with new home

A children’s toy and accessories supplier says it is set to “up its game” after completing a headquarters expansion.

Haus Distribution has moved into a 30,000sqft hub on Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate.

Bosses say the distribution centre and head office – which replaces a Gosforth site – will boost plans to secure fresh retail partnerships and create jobs.

They add it will allow the firm, which has signed a ten-year lease on the North Shields-based site, to build on a fifth consecutive year of increased turnover.

Known for distributing products by brands including Little Dutch, Wildride and Bon Ton Toys, Haus works with Harrods, Fenwick and John Lewis.

Lizzie Carroll, Haus founder and chief executive, said: “I am so proud of everything we’ve achieved.

“The brands we partner with are carefully selected and share our core values of kindness, positivity and passion.

“This has led us to grow sensibly over the last six years, and it’s now time to up our game and move into a bigger unit.

“We’re gearing up for the best Christmas ever at Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate, and we’re excited to have the space to work more efficiently and meet demand.”

Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate is owned by UK Land Estates, and David Gibbs, the firm’s property director, said it is “delighted” to have attracted Haus to the site.

He said: “We look forward to working with the team as they continue to establish Haus as a real North East and UK success story.”

Knight Frank acted on behalf of UK Land Estates on the letting, with Darlington, Newcastle and Leeds-based Square One Law advising Haus on the deal.

Charlotte Orr, commercial property associate, said: “This new hub will position Haus in a strategic location at the heart of the region, and be key to ensuring Lizzie and the team can continue building on their success for years to come.”
