Haulage firm expands with European rail venture
A haulage and warehousing firm says it is on track for success after launching a European rail joint venture.
Neill & Brown Global Logistics has unveiled a freight service alongside Italian partner Sogedim.
Officials at the East Yorkshire company say the venture “offers customers a lower-carbon alternative on one of the continent’s busiest freight corridors”.
Hessle-headquartered Neill & Brown will move goods via reinforced Huckepack trailers to ferries at Hull, which will then be transferred to freight trains at Zeebrugge, in Belgium.
Carl Andrew, Neill & Brown’s logistics director, said: “We have a superb relationship with Sogedim and believe this joint venture has great potential.
“It is a major investment in an efficient and reliable mode of transport to and from one of our most popular destinations.
“We can now provide more choice to customers, who are increasingly looking for less carbon-intensive haulage solutions.”
