Wire maker 'to forge ahead' after record Indian sales
A wire and bar maker says it is poised to forge stronger Asian links after record sales.
Alloy Wire International sent more than £650,000 of materials to Indian customers during the last year.
And bosses say the West Midlands firm is set to go from “strength to strength” and smash the figure amid growing demand from spring, valve and fastener makers across the automotive, aerospace and energy sectors.
The company – based in Brierley Hill, near Dudley – has worked with Indian agent Amit Banerjee for more than four decades, with its latest sales numbers representing a 50 per cent increase since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tom Mander, Alloy Wire International managing director, said: “A lot of our export success has been built on finding the right partner on the ground; Amit is a perfect example of that.
“It is one of our longest-standing agent agreements and, after 45 years, is getting stronger than ever with sales increasing rapidly.
“We did more than £650,000 in revenue last year, and I believe we can surpass that.
“Indian customers are working with some of the biggest original equipment manufacturers in the world, and need to make sure their components are on time and perform to the highest of standards.
“That’s where we come in.”
Amit added: “Alloy Wire International’s reputation for quality and material performance is really making waves in India.
“The first 45 years have been very good, but this is just the start.
“With closer ties between the two countries, I can only see this relationship going from strength to strength.”
