Eemits ensures ‘seamless’ coverage at Rockliffe Hall
A County Durham hotel is upgrading operations to support a major renovation.
Rockliffe Hall, one of the North East’s top five-star resorts, has partnered with Middlesbrough-based Eemits Communications to enhance two-way radio coverage across its 375-acre site.
The move supports the hotel’s multi-million-pound renovation, which began in April 2025 and includes a standalone restaurant led by culinary director James Close and the restoration of the Grade II-listed Old Hall.
Eemits supplied a range of Motorola radios to meet the varying needs of staff across the resort.
Lightweight, user-friendly radios were provided for spa personnel, while more robust, feature-rich radios were deployed across the hotel, golf course and other facilities.
Bosses say the system ensures “seamless” and “more efficient” communication indoors, outdoors, and even in previously challenging areas, such as underground spaces.
They add that the enhanced radio network will allow teams to coordinate effectively during the extensive refurbishment, improving efficiency and safety across the site.
Joe Young, internal sales executive at Eemits Communications, said: “Working with Rockliffe Hall to implement a two-way radio system that supports their renovation phase and beyond has been a real pleasure.
“Their plans to elevate the resort look fantastic, and I’m pleased they have a solution in place that enhances efficiency across multiple facilities and teams and boosts worker safety across 375 acres of land in the form of reduced response time and quicker lines of communication.
“As a fellow company based in the North East, we love working on projects like these.
“And I look forward to seeing Rockliffe Hall go from strength-to-strength.”
Ben Sloan, rooms division manager at Rockliffe Hall, added: “From initial contact with Joe, he quickly ascertained our needs and provided suitable options tailored to our individual departments which are all very different with different usage requirements.
“The system has been rolled out, with it already having a massive positive effect on the ability for us to communicate effectively between staff and other departments.”
Eemits will continue providing support throughout the renovation and beyond, ensuring Rockliffe Hall staff remain connected as the resort prepares to reopen in 2026.
