Starship luxury apartment scheme set for take-off after funding boost
A North West property developer is set to complete a “standout” high-end coastal apartment scheme following a £4.6 million funding boost.
Starship Developments has secured backing from Sancus Lending, with support from Cowgills’ property finance team.
Bosses say the funding will refinance and complete the nearly finished Hilbre Sands development in West Kirby, delivering eight luxury two-bedroom apartments overlooking the Dee Estuary.
Dave Dargan, Starship chief executive, said: “This has been a significant milestone for the business.
“Working alongside Cowgills and Sancus has enabled us to focus on delivering these coastal homes, which we believe set a new standard for apartment living on the Wirral.
“The support we’ve had has been crucial in ensuring the development meets both our vision and the high expectations of future residents.”
Andrew Charnley, Sancus Lending managing director, added: “Hilbre Sands is a fantastic example of the kind of quality, design-led scheme we’re keen to support.
“Starship’s approach to design, combined with Cowgills' expertise in structuring the right funding, means the development is well positioned to succeed in the market.”
Hilbre Sands will offer open-plan interiors with Porcelanosa finishes, bi-fold doors linking indoor and outdoor living spaces, underfloor heating and terraces with estuary views.
David Rainford, property finance director at Cowgills, whose property finance team specialises in advising SME developers and investors across the North West, added: “We’ve worked closely with Starship over several years, supporting them as they navigate an increasingly complex funding landscape.
“Securing the right facility for Hilbre Sands is a fantastic result.
“This funding provides the time and flexibility needed to complete the development, bring it to market and maximise sales.”
