Plans submitted for 504-home Leeds scheme
A Leeds-based housing scheme is set to bring hundreds of new homes to the city.
Forshaw Land and Property Group and Your Housing Group have submitted plans for New Foundry Square, a development proposing 504 apartments across six multi-storey towers, with blocks ranging from five to 12 storeys.
The development will feature one, two and three-bedroom homes, alongside facilities including retail space, a cinema, gym, residents’ lounge and private dining area, a co-working office and a pool.
Inspired by Leeds’ industrial heritage, the scheme aims to “set a new benchmark” for modern urban living while revitalising a key city-centre site.
The 3.7-acre site, currently vacant and located west of the city centre near Kirkstall Road, has been designed by Ollier Smurthwaite Architects, while the planning application was submitted to Leeds City Council by Euan Kellie Property Solutions following a two-week public consultation.
Ellie Philcox, director at Euan Kellie Property Solutions, said: “This scheme is one of the best examples of modern living, with functionality and facilities in abundance, appealing to a range of future residents.
“The development will form a key piece of the Council’s longstanding aspirations for the regeneration of this part of Leeds, creating linkages to the river and canal to the south and neighbouring plots.”
Lyndon Forshaw, managing director at Forshaw Group, added: “New Foundry Square represents a bold new chapter for Kirkstall Road and sets a new benchmark for development in Leeds.
“It’s not just about delivering homes – it’s about creating a vibrant, inclusive community for all generations.
“We’re incredibly encouraged by the support shown during the consultation and grateful for the thoughtful feedback from residents and local representatives.
“With first-class amenities, green spaces, and an intergenerational approach to living, we’re confident this will be a development the city can be proud of.
“We’re hopeful that the city plans panel will recognise the strength of local support and the benefits this scheme will bring when they consider our application.”
