DJH expands footprint with Haines Watts deal
An accountancy group has grown its North West operations.
DJH has taken over three Haines Watts offices in Chester, Liverpool and Wirral, boosting its North West revenues to more than £24 million and bringing total turnover across the group to £61.5 million.
The offices will rebrand immediately under the DJH name, adding to its existing presence in Altrincham, Bury, Chester, Manchester and Nantwich.
Bosses say the move strengthens the group’s offering to businesses across Merseyside and Cheshire, with clients now gaining access to an extended range of in-house services including corporate finance, HR consultancy, IT support, estate planning, capital allowances and R&D tax credits.
They add that the acquisition also reflects DJH’s strategy of growth through targeted partnerships, with management teams across the three newly acquired offices remaining in place, ensuring continuity for clients as DJH integrates the businesses into its wider network.
Mike Forshaw, director of Haines Watts’ Liverpool team, said: “Following significant changes within the Haines Watts network, joining DJH was an obvious strategic decision.
“We were looking for a platform that shares our values and can provide the stability and enhanced resources that will support our valued clients now and in the future.
“DJH’s strong regional presence and comprehensive support infrastructure makes it the perfect partner for our continued growth.”
Scott Heath, chief executive of DJH, added: “This acquisition aligns perfectly with our strategy of expanding our presence in key regional markets through partnerships with high-quality, client-focused practices.
“The Chester city, Liverpool and Wirral teams bring excellent local market knowledge and strong client relationships that complement our existing North West operations beautifully.
“It is also an exciting region to do business in, with lots of inward investment, regeneration projects and fast-growing companies requiring the right tailored advice to expand even further.”
With backing from private equity firm Tenzing, DJH has carried out 16 acquisitions in the past four years and now operates 16 offices across the UK and Ireland.
The firm employs around 750 people and ranks among the UK’s top 30 accountancy and professional services groups.
