Sharks dive into history with new kit
A Greater Manchester rugby club is celebrating its heritage with their new kit.
Sale Sharks have unveiled their 2025/26 Macron home shirt, inspired by the club’s origins in 1861.
The dark blue design features detailed historic maps of Sale and the surrounding area along the side panels of both shirt and shorts, while off-white V-neck and sleeve edges add a retro touch.
A subtle shark fin and the date 1861 are embossed on the back, tying the design to the club’s apex mark.

The launch was accompanied by a “Northern Force” video filmed at Lark Hill Place, the Victorian street exhibit at the Salford Museum, featuring current men’s and women’s team players and a voiceover from lifelong Sharks fan and BBC presenter Mark Chapman.
The men’s team will debut the kit in a pre-season friendly against Stuart Lancaster’s Connacht this Friday (September 5), with the full kit and apparel available in the club shop and online.
The team will wear the new kit at the Salford Stadium for the first time on Saturday, September 13 when the 2025/26 Prem Cup kicks off with a home fixture against Bristol Bears.
Tickets are available for both fixtures – as well as the opening fixture of the new Gallagher Prem season – here.
