Hive Land & Planning appoints new director
Salford-based Hive Land & Planning has appointed David Watson as director to establish and lead its socio-economics team.
The move expands Hive’s leadership team and strengthens its expertise across public and private sector projects.
David brings more than 20 years’ experience in economic development and regeneration consultancy, having held senior roles at Regeneris and Hatch.
He has been involved in high-profile initiatives including Newton-le-Willows’ £20 million ‘Plan for Neighbourhoods’ and Bury’s Economic Strategy and Action Plan, as well as helping secure over £60 million of public investment for Preston and Crewe.
David said: “Genuine and lasting urban regeneration is a long game, but it’s one I’m passionate about.
“Hive’s commitment to making meaningful differences to places through working in partnership with public bodies and developers aligns brilliantly with my values.
“I can’t wait to get stuck into problem solving and offering strategic advice that ultimately benefits local people, communities and economies.”
David’s appointment complements Hive’s existing planning and development services, with a focus on maximising the social and economic impact of regeneration projects on local communities.
Mark Vaughan, director at Hive Land & Planning, added: “David’s appointment strengthens our service offer across planning, development and socio-economics, giving our clients one go-to team from vision to delivery.
“His unique experience working with a range of public sector bodies, as well as with the private sector, will help our clients shape brighter futures for places, putting economic and social impact at the heart of regeneration and inclusive placemaking.”
