RMT Accountants grows Hexham team

RMT Accountants & Business Advisors is growing its presence in West Northumberland with a double appointment at its Hexham office.

Andrew Harrison joins as senior manager, bringing over a decade of accountancy experience supporting businesses across the North East. 

He began his career in Newcastle before returning to Hexham in 2016 to work with a range of local firms.

Andrew said: “My knowledge of this area and the relationships I’ve built here have been central to my career development so far.

“Choosing to join a firm that values these sorts of relationships as much as I do and that also has the resources required to meet clients’ every need was an easy decision for me to make.

“The business culture and career opportunities that RMT offers were also very appealing and I’m excited to play a part in building the firm’s presence in West Northumberland and beyond.”

Sharon Swaddle is also joining the team as an office administrator. 

With 35 years’ experience in the profession, she has held roles spanning office management, bookkeeping and tax returns at practices across Hexham.

The appointments come as RMT prepares to open a new office on Gilesgate in Hexham, following its 2023 acquisition of rural specialist McCowie & Co.
