Conference to shine light on construction sector
The future of the building sector will come under the spotlight at an industry conference.
Smart Construction 2025 is set to take place next month.
Organised by Constructing Excellence North East’s Innovation Group, it will explore smarter and more sustainable building practices.
Shining a spotlight on digital tools, construction methods and modern approaches to building, the event will feature speakers from organisations including Northumbrian Water, Nottingham Trent University, AIM, Amvic and Bellrock.
Organised alongside Newcastle and Northumbria universities, the event will also include interactive sessions and exhibitor showcases.
It will take place on Wednesday, October 22 at The Catalyst, in Newcastle, from 9am until 4.30pm.
Catriona Lingwood, Constructing Excellence North East chief executive, said: “Smart Construction 2025 is an important opportunity for our industry to keep pushing boundaries.
“It’s a space for learning, discussion and showcasing real progress in how we build.
“For those exhibiting, it’s also a chance to position themselves at the forefront of innovation.”
Andy Ray, Innovation Group chair, added: “Our industry faces significant issues, including adapting to new safety regulations and the urgent need to reduce carbon emissions to meet net-zero targets.
“Smart Construction 2025 will showcase how the latest tools, technologies and innovative approaches can help us overcome these challenges.
“The event is also vital for inspiring the next generation of construction professionals.”
