Franchise payroll firm joins Xeinadin network

A Midlands accountancy practice is set to scale its services after joining one of the UK and Ireland’s largest professional services groups.

Xeinadin has bought Bennett Whitehouse, a Brierley Hill–based firm with national expertise in franchise payroll and service charge accounting.

The deal adds to Xeinadin’s 100-strong office network across the UK and Ireland, strengthening its specialist capabilities.

Founded in 2018 by Gavin Whitehouse, Bennett Whitehouse has grown from a one-person operation to a 40-strong team in six years.

The practice has built two national specialisms: providing payroll services to franchise businesses and delivering service charge certification and accounts for commercial and residential clients.

Both are supported by bespoke in-house software, with a new payroll automation system currently in development.

Bosses say the acquisition will allow Bennett Whitehouse to enhance its tax and VAT services, expand collaboration on large-scale service charge projects and explore growth opportunities in franchise payroll.

They add that clients will continue working with the same trusted team while benefitting from Xeinadin’s nationwide network, providing “better benefits” and “more opportunities”.

investment in technology and cloud-first approach.

Gavin said: “I’ve worked with some of my team for more than 20 years, and many of our clients have been with us just as long.

“This move is about making sure those relationships are protected for the future.

“We’ll still be the same people our clients know and trust, but now we’ll have the backing of Xeinadin’s national network with deeper expertise in areas like tax and VAT, and the resources to grow in a way that’s sustainable for everyone.

“It’s also going to be a real lift for our team; better benefits, more opportunities, and the reassurance of being part of something bigger.”

Derry Crowley, chief executive of Xeinadin, added: “Gavin has built a practice with a national reputation in two very specialised areas, run by people who’ve chosen to work together for decades.

“That loyalty, both within the team and from clients, is rare.

“It’s exactly the kind of culture we want in Xeinadin. By combining their expertise with our national platform, we can help Bennett Whitehouse do more of what they already do brilliantly, whether that’s scaling their payroll operation, targeting bigger service charge contracts, or giving clients access to the full breadth of advisory services they now have at their fingertips.”
