Storage firm grows with ex-office transformation
A self-storage company is set to expand operations.
Vanguard Self Storage has secured planning approval to transform an ex-office site into a 660-unit base in Maidenhead.
Bosses say the venture will feature 40,000sq ft of net lettable space and “generate additional employment opportunities”.
They add the three-floor hub will also include rooftop solar panels and energy-efficient lighting, with a restored de Havilland Vampire aircraft set to stand as the building’s atrium centrepiece.
The site, which will complement existing bases in London, Bristol, Bath and Manchester, is expected to open in early 2026.
Will McCullagh, managing director, said: “Maidenhead is a natural next step for us.
“It's a rapidly growing, affluent town that has benefited from the introduction of the Elizabeth Line, improving connectivity to London and the surrounding region.
“Its mix of businesses and residents makes it an ideal location for a modern, secure storage facility.”
