CCS strengthens senior leadership team

Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), the independent champion for change in the construction and development sector, has strengthened its leadership team with three senior appointments.

Desiree Blamey becomes CCS’s first managing director, bringing over 15 years of experience in finance and business across construction, engineering, and advisory sectors in the UK and Australia.

She previously led CCS’s partnerships with contractors, developers, government stakeholders and industry trade bodies.

Desiree said: “Stepping into the role of managing director at this pivotal moment is a defining opportunity to help shape the future of our industry.

“Construction transforms the world around us, it’s a force for progress, innovation and equity.

“I’m excited to work alongside our partners to raise the bar and challenge norms, while enabling an industry culture that’s safer, smarter and more inclusive.”

Meanwhile, joining the team are April Comerford as director of corporate development, focusing on client relationships and business growth, as well as Mark Field as director of operations, responsible for streamlining operations and embedding technological solutions.

The appointments reflect CCS’s commitment to inclusive, values-driven growth, elevating industry standards, and amplifying its impact across the construction and development sector.

Les Copeland, interim non-executive chair for Considerate Constructors Scheme, added: “Desiree’s drive, depth of experience and clear vision align powerfully with our commitment to industry-wide transformation.

“Under her leadership, we’re ready to challenge conventions, deepen cross-sector collaboration and redefine standards of industry excellence.”
