Sheffield gets first taste of Tavern Collective
A new bar and restaurant is set to open in Sheffield.
Tavern on the Quays, part of Canadian brand The Tavern Collective, marks the group’s first UK venue.
Opening to the public on September 22, the restaurant is housed in the Grade II-listed arches beneath the Quays Hotel, a space dating back to 1855.
Spanning 5000sq ft, the venue will initially seat 90 guests, with additional spaces including private dining and a ballroom planned for later.
Guests can enjoy a menu that blends globally inspired and traditional British pub fare, featuring shareable Detroit Deep Dish pizzas and Canadian poutine.
Drinks have been created in collaboration with Diageo mixologists.
Designed with laidback steampunk vibes, the venue will also welcome four-legged guests with a dedicated dog menu.
Rene Ortiz, Northland Restaurant group director UK&I, said: “We want Tavern on the Quays to become the place to be and a real neighbourhood hangout.
“It’s a beautiful building, full of history and lovely architectural details, but renovated in a modern way.
“From the relaxed steampunk vibes and our playful bulldog mascot to surprising menu twists and throwback tunes, we can’t wait to show the people of Sheffield what The Tavern Collective is all about.
“We’re also delighted to be official sponsors of the mighty Sheffield Steelers – in homage to our Canadian roots and our love of ice hockey!”
