Harbour House, a space reimagined
“I always thought it would be cool to have a space where I could work with other people – more like an event than just a building – and get creatives together. I know this concept will work.”
Harbour House, on Little Bedford Street in North Shields, has been transformed from a derelict site into a vibrant home for creativity, collaboration and community.
Behind the three-year, self-funded project are Skye-Alexander Ferry and partner Amy-bosé Wilson, who designed and built the space with a mix of studios, wellness areas, independent retail and hospitality venues.
Named after their daughter, Harbour, the building hosts a thriving mix of businesses from bakeries to design studios, with more to come.
Brimming with energy and rooted in passion, Harbour House is already shaping up to be a cultural landmark.
Read their story and find out more about the transformation of the former indoor market, as Skye-Alexander and Amy-bosé sit down with Colin Young in our sister publication, N, here.
