CR Smith strengthens leadership with senior hires
CR Smith has added two experienced figures from Scotland’s construction and manufacturing sectors to its leadership team, reinforcing its focus on public sector growth alongside its domestic customer base.
Danny McArthur, previously managing partner at Hardies Property & Construction Consultants, joins as director of commercial.
He will lead CR Smith’s social housing and commercial activities, drawing on his extensive experience in delivering major development projects across Scotland.
Meanwhile, Alistair Mercer becomes director of manufacturing, bringing more than a decade of expertise in operations management.
He will oversee CR Smith’s advanced manufacturing facility in Fife, with a focus on process innovation and workforce development.
Their appointments follow strong growth at the company, which reported a 30 per cent revenue increase in Q1 2025 after securing significant social housing contracts.
They also follow recent additions to the leadership team, including a new director of finance and director of IT.
Gerard Eadie, chairman of CR Smith, said: “The appointments of Danny and Alistair mark a significant step in our growth strategy.
“Both bring exceptional expertise and proven track records in their respective fields, which will be instrumental as we scale our operations to meet growing demand from both the public and private sectors.
“Their leadership will strengthen our ability to deliver high-quality, energy-efficient solutions for our customers across Scotland.”
