UCR Group bolsters advisory board
Southampton-based UCR Group, a pioneer in advanced materials and energy technologies, has appointed Mel Morris CBE, chief executive and co-founder of Corpora.ai, to its advisory board as it accelerates innovation in clean energy and advanced materials.
The move follows UCR’s recent breakthroughs with its Inductive Capacitor Device (ICD), which reduces energy use in heavy industries and boosts solar performance.
Mel is a seasoned technology entrepreneur and investor with more than five decades of experience founding and scaling high-growth ventures across software, AI, medical and cloud technologies.
He is recognised for building pioneering platforms and creating billions in enterprise value through successful exits and strategic leadership.
Mel said: “UCR’s ability to deliver real-world energy savings and material breakthroughs is unmatched.
“I’m excited to support Keith and his impressive team on their journey and help shape the future of innovation in this critical space on the world stage.”
Mel’s appointment also strengthens UCR’s collaboration with Corpora.ai, which is driving UCR’s research and development strategy by rapidly synthesising critical insights across energy, materials science and industrial engineering.
Keith Cook, chief executive of UCR Group, added: “UCR has made breakthroughs that deliver dramatic and unprecedented power savings for energy-intensive industrial processes and developed the world’s most advanced flexible ceramic to unlock new performance standards.
“These support cross sector solutions for decarbonisation and profitability.
“Mel’s guidance will be invaluable as we scale these innovations globally and continue to grow our strategic partnerships worldwide.”
