Firm climbs high with FreekLime contract
A construction project management firm is on the ascent with a recreational hub contract.
Radcliffe Construction has secured a deal to help deliver FreekLime’s third indoor climbing centre.
Bosses say the Lincoln-based 6000sq ft venture will boost FreekLime’s ambitions to become a five-site, £3 million turnover business by 2030.
Huddersfield-based Radcliffe Construction will oversee the specification and scope for the design and build of the climbing hub, along with design and construction of back of house operational and changing facilities.
The work builds on previous projects to create FreekLime sites in Huddersfield and York.
John Verrier, Radcliffe Construction director, said: “FreekLime is one of the country’s fastest-growing indoor climbing centres, and we are delighted to be on the journey with the team as they push for further growth.
“We’ll now guide the project right through to RIBA stage seven – when the building is in use – including project managing areas such as spatial co-ordination and planning, technical design and construction.”
Chris Whitehead, FreekLime founder and managing director, added: “Our mission is to become the number one indoor climbing brand in the UK.
“Radcliffe Construction helped us build fantastic facilities at our Huddersfield and York sites, which now attract around 100,000 climbers each year, and we are delighted to be partnering with them again.”
