Builder secures £5 million social property agreement
A housebuilder has agreed a £5 million social property deal.
Avant Homes West Yorkshire has partnered with Vico Homes to create 25 properties at Wakefield’s Altofts Acres.
Bosses say the scheme will include one, two, three and four-bed homes, and two-bed detached bungalows.
The first properties are due to be completed in early 2026, with the development set to be finished in autumn 2027.
The partnership builds on existing projects between Avant Homes and Vico Homes at Edenthorpe, near Doncaster, and Birdwell and Dodworth, both near Barnsley.
Phil Lacey, Avant Homes’ group head of affordable housing delivery, said: “Providing quality new homes for everyone underpins our multi-tenure strategy.
“This latest deal with Vico Homes is evidence of this vision in action and will deliver affordable homes for people who need them most.”
Joel Owen, Vico Homes’ director of development and growth, added: “We’re committed to ensuring more people have an affordable home that meets their needs.
“We’re investing £300 million to deliver 1500 homes over the next three years – and partnerships like this are fundamental to meeting these goals.”
