Aberdeen Energy Park welcomes new tenant
A Scottish industrial and innovation hub has landed a new tenant.
AM Sci Tech, the Manchester-based owner of Aberdeen Energy & Innovation Parks, has signed a landmark letting at its Bridge of Don site.
Rental Technology & Services (RTS), a Norwegian engineering and subsea solutions provider, has agreed a ten-year lease for the former Weatherford site, now called The Horizon Centre.
The unit spans 22,005sq ft, with two-storey office space and a secure yard and sees RTS relocate from nearby Woodside Road.
RTS has also completed the acquisition of Aberdeen-based J1W Ltd, a specialist in ROV robotics and tooling, which will operate from The Horizon Centre.
David Currie, group managing director of RTS, said: “We are excited to be joining the vibrant business community at the Energy Park, as we take this next step in our growth journey.
“The Horizon Centre provides the high-quality, flexible space we need to support our operations in Aberdeen and the wider North East.”
David added: “Bringing J1W Ltd into the RTS group marks a significant milestone for us, strengthening our capabilities in ROV robotics and tooling.
“Establishing both businesses under one roof at The Horizon Centre will allow us to collaborate closely and drive innovation for our clients.
Gordon Pirie, asset manager at Aberdeen Energy & Innovation Parks, added: “The acquisition of this site was a fantastic addition to Aberdeen Energy Park and we are delighted to have concluded a high-quality letting in just over six months.
“This reinforces the Park’s position as a premier destination for industry and innovation.
“We pride ourselves on offering occupiers flexible, modern space with opportunities for further development.
“RTS is a perfect example of the type of forward-thinking business we aim to support.
“We also look forward to progressing development plans for the remaining three-acre site and anticipate further announcements later this year.”
Knight Frank and Ryden are joint letting agents for Aberdeen Energy & Innovation Parks.
Dan Stalker, senior associate at Ryden, added: “The Horizon Centre generated strong interest from a wide range of businesses and is an ideal base for RTS.
“The site’s strategic location, high-quality facilities and extensive yard space make it a prime choice for companies looking to establish or expand their presence in Aberdeen.
“We look forward to continuing strong interest in the Park.”
