Duel plots US growth after $16 million funding boost
A technology firm helping retailers boost market reach is eyeing US expansion after securing $16 million funding.
Duel has been backed by Molten Ventures, Bright Pixel and existing investor Peter Bauer.
Bosses say the support will fuel the London and Bristol-based operator’s growth across the US and expand artificial intelligence use.
Working with brands including Lush, ELEMIS and Victoria’s Secret, Duel’s relationship management platform enables retailers to track and engage with customers.
Paul Archer, Duel co-founder and chief executive, said: “A brand’s best marketers are customers sharing and recommending the products they love.
“We know that between a fifth and a third of a brand’s customers are already active creators, so we help brands recruit, activate and scale these authentic voices, turning everyday customers into powerful advocates.
“We give ambitious brands the system and expertise to turn everyday advocacy into their most powerful growth channel.
“And with this investment, we’re only just getting started.”
Nicola McClafferty, Molten Ventures partner, said: “Duel is rewriting the playbook for how brands grow in the modern world.
“We’re thrilled to support the firm as it builds a new category and reshapes how modern brands grow.”
Miguel Bagulho, Bright Pixel Capital investment director, added: “The brands driving the strongest growth are those building durable communities.
“And Duel is championing this shift.”
