Maintenance firm secures six-figure orders boost
A family-owned maintenance and repair firm has secured six-figure defence and transport deals.
Barnbrook Systems is supporting naval and rail clients.
Bosses say the Hampshire-based company will supply relays for Rolls-Royce engines on a “friendly foreign” navy’s destroyer fleet, and system control relays to extend trains’ service life for another decade.
Founded in 1978, Barnbrook Systems makes apparatus including train directional switches, engine controls and speed switches for fighter jets such as the Tornado and Jaguar, temperature monitors and flight actuators.
Andrew Barnett, managing director at the Fareham-based firm, said: “Continuing geopolitical instability has led to fresh military, governmental and defence imperatives to extend the operational life of time-proven older assets.
“Our long track record in maintenance, repair and overhaul, and certification and ownership of relays and components means we are in a prime position to support multiple sectors.
“We are proud to continue to help combat obsolescence and extend the lifespan of sunset and legacy assets that play such an important role in national security and the economy.”
