Code Concepts expands experiences team

Code Concepts, the hospitality group behind Code The Court and The Lost Close in Edinburgh, has appointed Katie Scott as its first head of experiences and events.

The newly created role reflects Code’s focus on enhancing guest experiences and growing its events offering across the portfolio.

Katie will oversee The Lost Close, Edinburgh’s underground venue for whisky and gin tastings and walking tours, while managing operational performance, financial growth and five-star visitor experiences.

She will also lead events at The Court, develop new offerings at Fishmarket Close, and help shape experiences at upcoming properties, including The Bindery, a boutique hotel opening in 2026.

Katie joins from The Real Mary King’s Close, where she spent several years as operations manager delivering premium tourism experiences.

She said: “I’m excited to join Code at such a pivotal stage in its journey.

“The Lost Close and The Court already have such strong identities, and I look forward to growing their offerings, collaborating with local suppliers, and helping to create unforgettable experiences for our guests.”

Katie’s appointment supports Code Concepts’ wider expansion plans, combining immersive experiences, community engagement and storytelling.

The group was recently a finalist in VisitScotland’s Thistle Awards for Best Hotel Experience for Code The Court, highlighting its commitment to innovative hospitality and local partnerships.

Andrew Landsburgh, managing director and founder at Code Concepts, added: “Guest experience is what truly sets Code apart.

“Most of our guests are solo travellers, and the events and storytelling sessions we host are designed to create a sense of connection and community.

“Katie’s expertise in visitor engagement and operational excellence will be instrumental in taking that vision to the next level.”
