Createc strengthens nuclear team amid growth

Cumbrian-based technology firm Createc has bolstered its nuclear division with the appointment of Glynn Chisholm as account manager for UK nuclear decommissioning.

Glynn joins the business during a period of expansion, which has seen the firm open a new headquarters in Cockermouth and grow its international presence across offices in Oxford, Tokyo and Oslo.

He said: “I am delighted to be joining Createc at such an exciting point in its journey.

“The company has an outstanding reputation for innovation, and I look forward to helping build strong relationships with the nuclear sector and supporting the delivery of technologies that make a real difference.”

Founded in 2010 by Matt Mellor, Createc employs more than 60 staff and is renowned for its pioneering N-Visage technology, which mapped radiation inside Fukushima Daiichi’s damaged reactors.

The firm recently secured a £3 million framework contract from Sellafield Ltd to deliver, integrate and maintain a Quadruped Robotic Inspection Platform, further cementing its reputation for innovation in the nuclear sector.

Will Newsom, Createc’s chief executive, added: “Createc has always been about solving real-world problems with fresh ideas and world-class technical expertise.

“The nuclear sector has been central to our story from the beginning, from our early work at Fukushima to the projects we are now supporting in the UK.

“As the industry faces new challenges in decommissioning and the transition to clean energy, we see a huge opportunity for innovation to make a difference.

“Our focus is on building the right team, the right partnerships and the right technologies to ensure we can continue to deliver impact at home and internationally.

“Additionally, we are committed to supporting the West Cumbrian community, recruiting local talent and contributing to the region’s role as a global leader in the nuclear industry.”
