Lichfields strengthens Thames Valley team

Lichfields, the national planning and development consultancy, has strengthened its Thames Valley office with the appointment of two new planners, Mariam Ahmed and Willow Cockerill.

Mariam, who holds a BSc in human geography and an MSc in spatial planning and Ddevelopment from the University of Reading, brings practical GIS experience to the team.

She said: “I’m excited to join Lichfields at such a dynamic time for the Thames Valley office.

“The breadth of projects here provides a great opportunity to apply what I’ve learned at university and continue developing my skills.”

Willow joins after completing her MPlan urban studies and planning at the University of Sheffield, with hands-on experience in development management and renewable energy projects gained through placements at Hart District Council and Dorset Council.

She added: “Starting my career at a consultancy with such a strong reputation and track record in the region is a fantastic opportunity.

“I’m looking forward to getting involved in projects that will have a real impact locally.”

Both will contribute to a range of high-profile projects across the region, including residential, hospitality, infrastructure and data centre developments.

Their appointments reflect Lichfields’ commitment to supporting early-career professionals while expanding the office’s capacity during its tenth anniversary year.

Daniel Lampard, head of Lichfields’ Thames Valley office, added: “We’re pleased to welcome Mariam and Willow to the team.

“Their enthusiasm and academic grounding will add real strength to the office as we continue to grow.

“Attracting and nurturing talented graduates is central to our long-term strategy and these appointments build on the success of our recent internship programme, which has already given several students experience of working in planning.”
