My Delhi named among world’s best

A North East restaurant has earned a place among the world’s best in an international dining award.

My Delhi Newcastle has been named in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards 2025, ranking 22nd in the UK for casual dining and placing within the top one per cent of restaurants worldwide.

The recognition marks a step up for the restaurant, which has held Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Award for the past three years, a title reserved for the top ten per cent of venues globally.

Elahi Amin, director of My Delhi, said: “As someone from the North East, born and bred, this is a huge honour. 

“To be recognised not just nationally, but as one of the best restaurants in the world, is something we could only dream of when we opened in 2019. 

“It’s a huge thank you to our incredible guests, whose reviews and loyalty have made this possible. 

“To be standing alongside some of the very best worldwide – and to do it here in the North East, makes me incredibly proud.”

Since opening in 2019, My Delhi Newcastle has earned a strong reputation for authentic Delhi street food served in a premium casual setting. 

The restaurant is part of a growing group with locations in Sunderland and Leicester, with further expansion plans underway.
