Wykeland unveils £10 million Evolve units

A new commercial development is set to boost business space in East Yorkshire.

Wykeland Group has officially opened Evolve @ Melton West business park near Hull, a £10 million development providing high-quality, modern units in one of the region’s most sought-after business locations.

Spanning 85,000sq ft across seven units, the development includes a 37,000sq ft larger space and five smaller 5000sq ft units, one of which is already under offer.

Designed for a range of uses, the units accommodate industrial, manufacturing, distribution and trade counter operations, all benefiting from dedicated and overflow parking.

Sustainability has also been central to Evolve’s design.

Each unit is EPC A-rated and equipped with rooftop solar panels, green living walls and electric vehicle charging points, providing energy-efficient facilities that lower running costs while enhancing occupiers’ sustainability credentials.

Medequip, a specialist logistical business providing community equipment services, has already moved into one of the larger units ahead of schedule to support a major new contract.

The project received grant funding from East Riding of Yorkshire Council as part of the local authority’s commitment to boosting economic growth in the region.

Councillor Anne Handley, leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, cut the ribbon to declare the development officially open, with the council’s chief executive designate Paul Bellotti also in attendance.

Councillor Handley said: “We’re pleased to have supported Wykeland Group to enable the creation of a development of such exceptional quality.

“Evolve significantly enhances opportunities for businesses looking to secure premises which will accelerate their growth and position themselves for future success.”

Wykeland managing director Dominic Gibbons added: “We’re delighted to have completed this major new development at Melton West, providing commercial space which is best in class and unmatched for quality in the local area.

“We have delivered this development speculatively, reflecting our confidence in the proposition Evolve offers and our commitment to stimulating investment and growth.

“That decision has already been rewarded by securing an excellent first tenant in Medequip.

“Now that the other units are available to occupy, we’re seeing growing interest, reflecting a pent-up demand from growing businesses looking for the high-spec, future-proofed facilities Evolve offers.”
