B Corp milestone for property operator
A property operator is setting new standards in sustainability.
Native Communities has become a certified B Corporation™, making it the first third-party build-to-rent and multifamily operator globally to achieve the accreditation.
The milestone follows a two-year process to embed environmental, social and governance commitments across the business.
Initiatives include 100 per cent renewable electricity for landlord areas, AI-driven consumption monitoring and 96 per cent of the supply chain holding environmental accreditation.
Alongside its B Corp status, Native continues to grow its portfolio, adding 12 new assets in 2025, with 2463 residential units and 25,000sq ft of commercial space across cities including Edinburgh, Leicester, Salford, Bath and Nottingham.
The company has also strengthened its team with 61 internal moves and promotions, enhancing its capacity to manage diverse communities and deliver long-term value for institutional clients nationwide.
Guy Nixon, chief executive of Native Communities, said: “B Corp certification validates our commitment to putting ESG at the heart of how we operate.
“It recognises the progress we’ve already made, while embedding practices that will make our communities more sustainable and better places to live and work.
“Most importantly, it ensures that our clients, our people, and our residents all benefit from the way we run and grow our business.”
