Peabody appoints director for asset investment

Peabody, the not-for-profit housing association, has appointed Jonathan Cooper as its new director of asset investment and fire remediation.

Jonathan joins the senior leadership team to oversee improvement works and accelerated fire safety upgrades across residents’ homes.

He will also help shape Peabody’s long-term investment strategy, planning for the next 30 years to ensure homes are safe, warm and well maintained.

A chartered building surveyor and construction manager, Jonathan brings extensive experience in managing large-scale repair and improvement programmes across diverse building types.

He said: “It’s a great privilege to take on a role with such meaningful impact for residents.

“I look forward to joining the Investment Directorate as we focus on home improvements, safety and maintenance, and ensuring residents can enjoy safe, sustainable and comfortable homes both now and in the future.”

Jonathan’s appointment comes as Peabody continues to invest heavily in building safety and resident services, reflecting the organisation’s ongoing commitment to creating homes and places that last.

Phil Jenkins, chief investment officer at Peabody, added: “I'm delighted to welcome to my team Jonathan Cooper, who will be helping us continue to deliver safe, sustainable and comfortable homes for residents and playing a key role in accelerating our fire remediation programme.

“Jonathan joins us from City of London and brings strong experience across housing, construction and building safety, gained in both the public and private sectors.”
