Apollo dials up success with Xi takeover

A Leeds-headquartered communication technology business has expanded its presence with a takeover.

Apollo Cloud, founded in 2022, has completed the purchase of Harrogate-based Xi Communications.

Bosses say the move marks Apollo Cloud’s first acquisition since launch and signals the next stage of its growth plan.

They add that the deal brings together two businesses with complementary services and a shared focus on customer care.

Jonathan Marsden, co-founder and chief executive of Apollo Cloud, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Xi Communications to Apollo Cloud.

“The team has a reputation for excellent service and a loyal customer base.

“Together, we will accelerate innovation for next-generation communications, providing stronger resilience and a larger team of specialists to support growth and productivity.

“We are combining scale with continuity.

“Xi Communications customers will continue to be served by the same trusted team, with Apollo Cloud’s national footprint, certified engineering capability, expanded service portfolio and enhanced support capacity behind them.”

Apollo Cloud delivers VoIP telephony, unified communications, business mobiles and internet connectivity to a UK and international customer base.

Its clients span industries including logistics, education, healthcare, manufacturing and professional services.

Xi Communications, led by Martin Taylor and Tony Mellor since 2014, has built a reputation for expertise and customer-focused service.

As part of the deal, Martin and Tony will join Apollo Cloud as area directors, ensuring continuity for Xi’s 160 customers while giving them access to a broader suite of technology solutions and support.

Martin added: “Apollo Cloud shares our service-first ethos, and our customers will gain the best of both worlds.

“They keep the personal service they value and gain seamless access to new solutions across telephony, Microsoft Teams integration, business mobiles and internet connectivity.

“It is an exciting step for our team and for our clients, and we are confident this move will unlock fresh investment, faster project delivery and a wider range of expertise for every customer we support.”

The advisors on the deal were GS Verde Group for Apollo Cloud and Harrowells Limited for XI Communications.
