Lumo extends service with affordable fares
A rail operator is expanding its services with new affordable fares.
Lumo, the Newcastle-headquartered open-access operator, is launching a sustainable and cost-conscious service linking Glasgow and London.
The move will see its trains extend to Glasgow Queen Street from December 2025, with advance tickets for 2026 starting at just £33.90 for journeys between Glasgow and London.
Passengers travelling between Glasgow and Newcastle can secure tickets from as little as £10.90.
The service will also call at Falkirk High Station.
Lumo has already built a reputation for running an award-winning service between Edinburgh, Newcastle and London using innovative 100 per cent electric trains.
The extension to Glasgow is designed to enhance connectivity for domestic Scottish journeys and cross-border travel.
To mark the announcement, Lumo has partnered with Glasgow broadcaster Bev Lyons to launch a social media competition during National Customer Service Week (6-10 October).
Prizes include a luxury hotel stay in Newcastle and an exclusive train driver simulator experience, offering fans a fun way to celebrate the new route.
